Firearms Transfers
To ensure a smooth and lawful firearm purchase in Wisconsin, review the following requirements:
To purchase a firearm in Wisconsin, you must present a valid state-issued ID (such as a Wisconsin driver's license) that includes your current address. If your ID shows an outdated address, you can request a new one from the DMV online. A temporary digital copy of your updated license (provided by the DMV via email) is acceptable for gun purchases. Other acceptable proof of current address (if your ID is outdated) includes: Wisconsin Concealed Carry License, Property Tax Bill, or Vehicle Registration. Bring any one of these documents along with your ID to verify your current residence.
Background checks differ based on the type of firearm: Handguns are processed through the Wisconsin DOJ, while long guns (rifles & shotguns) are submitted through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). You must be the actual purchaser of the firearm. Buying a gun for someone else is considered a “straw purchase” and is a criminal offense.
Age requirements are as follows: You must be at least 18 years old to purchase long guns and 21 years old to purchase handguns. During the background check process, you’ll be asked several eligibility questions. If you answer “yes” to certain questions, or if disqualifying information appears, your purchase may be denied. A full list of prohibited persons can be viewed through official ATF or state resources. Approval timelines vary. For handguns, approval can take up to 5 business days, though many are instant. For long guns, NICS has up to 30 days to respond, but most are processed quickly. If approved instantly, there is no waiting period — you can take your firearm home the same day. We will contact you when your background check is approved.
If your background check is denied, your firearms dealer can provide information on the appeals process. In some cases, the issue may be fixable. If you follow these guidelines, your firearm purchase should be smooth, legal, and stress-free.
If you are transferring multiple firearms, the second (third, fourth, etc) long gun/receiver (federal checks) will be an additional half priced fee. For example, if you transfer one long gun, the cost is $20. If you transfer two long guns, the cost is $30 ($20 full price + $10 half price). There is no discount for multiple handguns. This discount only applies to firearms transferred during the same transfer/background check.

NFA Transfers
NFA Transfer Policy
LFOD Tactical LLC is proud to offer NFA (National Firearms Act) item transfers, including suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and other regulated items.
NFA Transfer Fee
Our NFA transfer fee is $75 per item. This fee covers all required processing, secure storage, ATF compliance paperwork, and customer support throughout the transfer process.

If you purchase your suppressor or other NFA item through SilencerShop.com and select LFOD Tactical LLC as your dealer, the entire transfer process becomes fast, secure, and hassle-free.
Once your item arrives at our location, we will notify you promptly and assist you with the necessary ATF Form 4 paperwork. We will store your NFA item securely until your tax stamp is approved and you're ready for pickup.
Important Notes
All NFA transfers must be initiated by a licensed dealer.
You must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to possess NFA-regulated items.
Any NFA items not picked up within 30 days of approval may incur storage fees unless prior arrangements are made.
